NY DAILY NEWS: STOP NICKEL-AND-DIMING NEW YORKERS

On December 31st, 2020, New York took a critical step towards eliminating the harmful effects of unjust fines and fees by ending debt-based driver’s license suspensions. The new law: the Driver’s License Suspension Reform Act, which took effect March 9th 2021 will help hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers get their licenses back and escape a vicious cycle of debt and punishment.
